I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but I’m proud to say that I have been in Texas since 1998. I even own land now which makes me an official Texan! For the last decade, I’ve cared for patients as a nurse. I also spent seven years as an ICU registered nurse/house supervisor. I enjoyed nursing so much that I felt it was time for me to do even more for my patients, which is why I decided to become a nurse practitioner.
I graduated with a Master’s in Nursing, with a focus in family practice from Texas Tech University. I chose to specialize in internal medicine because I felt it was the best fit for me with my nursing background. Every day when I come to work I look forward to caring for my patients with the compassion that they deserve. I actively seek new ways to utilize my knowledge, experience and therapeutic skills to assist patients and their families. I truly believe that every appointment revolves around the patient and what they need. When treating patients, I take their wishes, finances and cultural beliefs into consideration. Doing so allows me to help them the way that they want and need to be helped.
I am married and live in Cedar Hill where I get to come home to four Saint Bernards and two Macaws. When I’m not treating patients I enjoy playing with my dogs as much as possible.
